PTA Posted August 28, 2015 Report Posted August 28, 2015 Works only in single mode... But can decode a stereo signal. Quote
Marc Wielage Posted August 28, 2015 Report Posted August 28, 2015 Looks like a very cool product (especially for an "introductory" price $1600), plus the very wide block range. Congrats to Glenn and company! I'm very curious how long 4AA's will keep the thing running continuously. If they could really do 12 hours, that'd be fantastic. http://zaxcom.com/products/rx200/ https://www.gothamsound.com/product/rx200-pre-order Quote

Ze Frias Posted August 28, 2015 Report Posted August 28, 2015 That's awesome, but, as long as NiMH give me at least 6-7 hours, then that's more than enough for me to change batts at lunch. Looking forward to checking it out. Quote
glenn Posted August 28, 2015 Report Posted August 28, 2015 Battery life is as follows: Lithium Ion 12 hours NiMh 8.5 hours Alkaline 7 hours Since the unit will run from 4 to 18 volts I am going to try 4, 3.6 V rechargeable AA size batteries. This should be interesting. Glenn Quote
Glen Deakin Posted August 28, 2015 Report Posted August 28, 2015 Question are there vents? How hot does it get? Quote
glenn Posted August 28, 2015 Report Posted August 28, 2015 No vents are required. The units power requirement is 1.5W so it does not need any ventilation and never gets hot. This is one of the benefits of 12 Hour battery life. Glenn Quote

Toy Robot Posted August 28, 2015 Report Posted August 28, 2015 Yeah, I will be ordering a couple of these soon. Way to go with the improved battery life. That was my #1 concern. Still with external powering option to boot. Very nice. New screen looks excellent from the photos. Quote
Glen Deakin Posted August 28, 2015 Report Posted August 28, 2015 Yes I really like the new screen I wonder of all their transmitters are going to go in that direction Quote
bralleput Posted August 28, 2015 Report Posted August 28, 2015 funny that in the photo the 'on/off'switch is on the 'off' side while the display is 'on' Quote
Jason A Posted August 28, 2015 Report Posted August 28, 2015 Available in October? Word is, shipping late Sept. Quote
glenn Posted August 28, 2015 Report Posted August 28, 2015 I was wondering when someone would notice the power switch position. This has been corrected. Glenn Quote
Derek H Posted August 28, 2015 Report Posted August 28, 2015 Looks really great. Congrats Glenn and crew. Quote
Jeff Wexler Posted August 28, 2015 Report Posted August 28, 2015 funny that in the photo the 'on/off'switch is on the 'off' side while the display is 'on' That particualr photo is a pre-release unit. The shipping units will operate as one would expect --- ON will be on and OFF will be off. Quote
bralleput Posted August 28, 2015 Report Posted August 28, 2015 "I was wondering when someone would notice the power switch position. This has been corrected. Glenn" Good to know!Looked a bit strange. Quote
osa Posted August 28, 2015 Report Posted August 28, 2015 Works only in single mode... i dont need dual mode in a camera link - although i have seen dual mode in camera link setups used in very clever ways. when i do see a need for it the 235 will always be here for that purpose. for some clients (really just 1 at this point) i still need record run tc where the 235 would serve that purpose. the return is another thing i dont need. i have never been satisfied with the fidelity from headphone ports. i would prefer a sennheiser g2 just for return mounted to the top of an rx200 if i felt i really needed return. I just placed an order as well for my rx200. see you in september! hopefully... -Ken Quote
Constantin Posted August 28, 2015 Report Posted August 28, 2015 The screen looks great, but it's way too small. What is it with these small screens? Same on most other rx, sure, but those are too small, as well Quote
VASI Posted August 28, 2015 Report Posted August 28, 2015 Agree with Constantin on this. A little bigger screen will be appreciated. (Ambient ACL 204 also has small screen) Quote
Glen Deakin Posted August 28, 2015 Report Posted August 28, 2015 I'm hoping with the new style screen it will actually be easier to read. I really dont mind the screen size. I always found the older style screens hard to read on both the receivers and the transmitters. Quote
Toy Robot Posted August 28, 2015 Report Posted August 28, 2015 It's not about screen size so much for me as it is contrast. This is a very well lit, high contrast screen. I don't think it's too small from what I can see in the photos, however I have yet to hold a unit in person. Looks great to me. Quote
