13324 Posted June 5, 2018 Report Posted June 5, 2018 On a whim, I tried loading up the secure HTTPS version of this site (https://jwsoundgroup.net versus http://jwsoundgroup.net). Before, I usually got an error message since the site doesn’t have HTTPS enabled, but what I get today is something totally unexpected… Tried it in Firefox, Safari, Chrome, with my browser extensions enabled, with my browser extensions disabled, and on my phone using mobile data. Same thing. Is it happening for anyone else? https://jwsoundgroup.net Quote
Vincent R. Posted June 5, 2018 Report Posted June 5, 2018 Yup, it seems that the HTTPS is 'hacked' and redirecting. tech mode: this can be done if someone hacked a .htaccess file in the root folder of your site. Quote

Jim Feeley Posted June 5, 2018 Report Posted June 5, 2018 That's Jeff's new design for this place: Body = Microphone Mind = Headphone Spirit = Preamps Guide = Spelling error. To our detriment, this place is rather heavily guy'd. And while we do debate issues of body and mind, our real arguments are reserved for matters of spirit: http://jwsoundgroup.net/index.php?/topic/31366-zoom-f8n/&page=2&tab=comments#comment-348329 Quote

Eric Toline Posted June 5, 2018 Report Posted June 5, 2018 I'm so glad that I have absolutely no clue about this issue or what you're talking about. Quote

Rick Reineke Posted June 5, 2018 Report Posted June 5, 2018 I get the same mind, body site with the Pale Moon browser (which is very similar to Firefox prior to ver. 57 Quantum). Quote
Dalton Patterson Posted June 5, 2018 Report Posted June 5, 2018 "There are so many misunderstandings about vitamins, that it is well-known that much false information is present. One such VERY misunderstood vitamin is Vitamin C. Our government rates Vitamin C by the amount of Ascorbic Acid it contains. Well, let me enlighten you. Ascorbic Acid is merely a COMPONENT of the Vitamin C Complex." Hmm…Not bad info. 13324 Posted June 15, 2018 Author Report Posted June 15, 2018 Paging @Jeff Wexler, in case he hasn’t seen this yet. Quote
Jeff Wexler Posted June 15, 2018 Report Posted June 15, 2018 I'm working on this issue. Thanks to all who have pointed this out. My server host company will look into this. Quote
Jeff Wexler Posted June 16, 2018 Report Posted June 16, 2018 First of all, thank you for pointing out the https issue ---- the site does not have https enabled but I am able to make that happen so it's under consideration. The only reason not to do it is that it will affect links that our members post: if the site is secure https, any URL that is posted that is NOT https will be flagged and blocked, resulting in an error alert. Most links will be https but some may not be. Now, thank you so much for your ongoing support for JWSOUND! There isn't a way presently to schedule recurring donations (nice idea though) but I will look into possibly implementing some sort of subscription/donation which could be auto-renewing or something. This would be totally voluntary, of course, I will never try to extract any money from our members ---- everyone has been so generous over all these years, it is much appreciated. Quote
Wandering Ear Posted June 16, 2018 Report Posted June 16, 2018 I think a JW subscription option is a great idea. Quote

I remember you use DonorBox to accept donations on your Weebly website – I also use it for nonprofit stuff, and fortuitously, they launched weekly and annual payment options earlier today, in addition to the monthly option they already had. Oh, and it turns out you have the annual option already enabled on your DonorBox page! Edited June 16, 2018 by Daniel Ignacio Quote
Jeff Wexler Posted June 16, 2018 Report Posted June 16, 2018 Right! I got the notice from DonorBox about Weekly and Annually options being added and just updated the donor button on my Weebly site. So, it's all good. Thank you for your help with this. Quote
13324 Posted September 20, 2018 Author Report Posted September 20, 2018 Just noticed that JWSOUND is now HTTPS-enabled. Thanks @Jeff Wexler! Quote
