Phillip Posted January 14, 2020 Report Posted January 14, 2020 I read that the Sonosax SX-R4+ recorder differs in the USA from the European version. Is it the same for the SX-M2D2 that the US version is different from the European one?
JAX Posted January 16, 2020 Report Posted January 16, 2020 Hello, The US version is the same as the European version, with the 136dB dynamic range. Enjoy!
Jeremtools Posted February 8, 2020 Report Posted February 8, 2020 Hello everybody, Has anyone found a compatible bag or a solution for use with an orca-type bag for example? thx jeremie
INARI Posted February 14, 2020 Report Posted February 14, 2020 I bought it too. and arrive soon. And bought a phone holster at my neiborhood fishing tackle shop. maybe it will work with a little customize.
AB Posted February 15, 2020 Report Posted February 15, 2020 To be clear, this is not a recorder, correct?
IronFilm Posted February 15, 2020 Report Posted February 15, 2020 6 hours ago, AB said: To be clear, this is not a recorder, correct? Correct, it doesn't record. (although you could use something as simple as your phone over USB to record together with it)
INARI Posted February 18, 2020 Report Posted February 18, 2020 I got that.So wonderful quality. Back is full of male like 80's SF convention. This is easy to clean. It cannot bypass AD/DA , cannot send balanced line signal. but seems to be a trivial matter.

Orca is still not making bags for it but even if it will it will cost:-) I use a modified pouch (with my older Petrol soft pads) found on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/AIRSSON-Universal-Organizer-Smartphone-Carabiner/dp/B07VJG3NSY/ref=redir_mobile_desktop?ie=UTF8&fbclid=IwAR0LNz2In64bKDexBYMdiSgTzJILMJUxXdL4tkhCWxKAspxddZyvSWhwEp0&psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title
Gongyao Wang Posted March 26, 2020 Report Posted March 26, 2020 Thanks for sharing, is there any release date and price?

I got a low profile 2x mini-XLR running from M2D2 into a small hole I did in internal fabric through the pen compartment and to the Rycote. Then a low profile or right angle USB C cable goes into other compartment where it connects to the Camera to Ligthing adapter and to the iPhone. My HD25 cans have a right angle connector as well. So everything is highly accessible and easy to use with no stress on the cables.
Jeremtools Posted April 2, 2020 Report Posted April 2, 2020 I modified a Peak design bag (the field pouch) and this is what it looks like. And once the recordings are done, everything goes inside! (except the headphones ok ..) I use the iPhone as a recorder and there is a small power bank that powers the M2D2 and the iPhone.

Is that another mirror shot? Yes yes I know ... Red is Right these days! (...Friendly Fire...?) But for those yet to jump on the treadmill ... Red Port Left, Green Starboard Right, as per my Nagra and Neve PPMs (and every ship and plane in existence). Salut, Jez
Patrick Tresch Posted April 4, 2020 Report Posted April 4, 2020 Nice setup Jeremtools! Any one knows a small USB-C audio recorder? It basically would need a power on/off and a REC button. Would love to see it from Tentacle.

henrimic Posted April 4, 2020 Report Posted April 4, 2020 If Sonosax could ad a simple SD card and a recording function, for the version 2, that would be huge !

I'm pretty sure so many of us would have bought 1 in a heart beat if had a built in recorder. I'm not going to say they missed an open goal because maybe there was something like a legal reason not do this - anyway here's to something like an R2D2 if ever happens.
Patrick Tresch Posted April 4, 2020 Report Posted April 4, 2020 Sonosax decided to build the best mini preamp they could do today. Adding a pro recorder would have mean TC, more power, more mechanics, more developping time and more $$$.
