Again I seek your knowledge, since my searches have proven unfruitful. Will a um400 tx work with a ucr211 rx? I've got both sitting in front of me along side a um200c tx. The 200's work together, but the 400 appears to the 211 with no pilot tone, and no audio output. Blocks and frequencies are all checked. Any ideas?

Hi all Not exactly a location sound question but in a way, it is. We recently landed a high end live stream corporate gig. Client has requested us to have dozens of potential applause sound sample on-line and ready to go for one of the presenters. There will be a large audience viewing this live stream remotely, on Zoom (Yes, I know, terrible broadcasting platform). We will have our Allen & Heath SQ5 on site, hooked up to our VMix live streaming system via Dante. I could use some recommendations on how you would implement and integrate these applause sound effects into our workflow. Is this an iPad app that allows for the sfx to be triggere…

AES42 users, What boom pole cable do you use? Would regular 12ft Loon Boom be short enough for trouble free AES42 operation. Or do I need 110ohm AES cable? If so where can I find coiled AES cable? Thanks

Hi, I'm buying a DPA lavalier, model 4061, to use it with a lectro transmitter, LM. I didn't find on the dpa site the reference of the exact adapter. To this moment this is the closest suspect: the DAD3056, http://www.dpamicrophones.com/en/products.aspx?c=Item&category=138&item=24115. Although it is made for the 4063 and the 4067, not the 4061. Could anyone shine a light on this matter? Are there any good alternatives for the DPA official adapter - which I personally find quite expensive?

The producer from a shoot I was recently on needs to know what the replacement cost is for a couple of the shelves on my PSC cart. If someone here knows, please let us know. I missed out on talking to a vendor this week, and hope to get an answer on a Saturday. Thanks, Dave Schaaf

Hi friends, I could use your advice. I have an SD744t and a MixPre-D. For mics I have a Rode NT4, an Usi stereo pair, 2 JrF contacts, 1 JrF hydro, and 1 Aquarian hydro. I'm going to north Australia (Cape Tribulation) in July and want to record mainly ambiances of the rainforest and beach the sound of a cassowary yelling at me I'm wondering what gear you would bring on a trip like this, so that I may consider upgrading or investing, Since I'd prefer to stay away from the Cassowary's deadly claw, I'm thinking maybe Tellinga parabolic system. Alternately I could maybe find an animal specialist that could work with me to find one and get the sou…

Hello All, I'm debating whether I move to 788 or Deva Fusion from my Fostex DV824 soon. Can anyone tell me if the Deva Fusion mirrors with an external DVD burner via the firewire or is it something that writes after each take? Charlie Slemaker

Just a simple question for all of you. Is your audio feed to video assist allways a mono feed? I have a customer asking for a specific function from one of our mixers and I want to be sure to have his/your needs covered in the future. Thanks Ron Meyer Professional Sound Corp

Hi guys, Wondering if anyone has any experience using the Shure MX393/O boundary mic? http://www.shure.com/americas/products/microphones/microflex/mx392-mx393-microflex-boundary-microphones Here's the situation: A few months ago I worked on a shoot in a classroom with about 15-25 students. Two camera's, one wide, one on close ups. It was an ESL class, so students with varying degrees of confidence with the English language. The class proceeded as normal (ignoring the cameras) with a lesson and then student/teacher interaction. Of course, the teacher was wired, but the students all had to be boomed. The issue became that to hear some of these shy kids, …

Hi all, A friend just gave me an old wireless pair and I can't find any info on it at all. They are labelled as being in 473.6 MHz. Any info for the sake of curiosity would be appreciated. The picture below is of another one of these units that turned up at Gotham some time ago. Thanks Richard

Was just curious if anyone uses the antenna outputs on the Venue for their TV tuner. I know these outputs are supposed to be "tuned" for the specific block (21-22 for me), but does it make that much difference for Modulus/Canatrans reception. Will it affect my wireless mic reception? Don't want to try it out and then mess up something inside the Venue. Thanks in advance, Robert

My Qrx100 QIFB just lost all QIFB functionality. Mid-shoot. Receiver works fine but zero IFB now, zero zaxnet control. Updated firmware after wrap but still no IFB menu at all. I’m in a bind. Any ideas other than the ifb board just gave up the ghost? Any rental houses used in New Orleans (I’m landing in the evening) that can help fill the gap with an ifb100 or ifb200? Planning to call Zaxcom monday morning. Help! Avi

Who makes the best quality P-Tap socket ? I've tried various different ones and I find they are all pretty fragile. Or does anyone have any tips for a better way to assemble them ? I've gone through quite a few and none of them last much more then a few months without them coming loose.

Hello All, I have posted some information relating to storing complete configurations to CF card and disk, that Deva and Fusion users may find very valuable: http://www.trewaudio.com/products/zaxcom/deva_cool_things1/. Regards, Glen Trew

Anyone use the the mini, how do you like it?, They sell the 5ft extender for it that they describe as being quick and easy to add on. Anyone use that or try it? Definitely need over 11ft on a lot of shoots, but would love to own the 11ft mini and whack the 5ft extension as needed if the performance is similar to the QS 17 footer. Appreciate any experience with them :-)

I'm wondering... A couple of things really, since you can select which tracks to record in the Deva, if I select track 1mix, track 2 as safety, track 4 wire and track 8 wire. Do they come up as track 1234 in telecine and post ? I also remeber reading something once about Avid or Protools not being able to read odd numbered files, like 3,5, and 7 tracks. Is this still true? thanks, Larry

I am using all MM400 TX now and have polled a number of people off group and want more feedback, I have found that RED Band Countryman B6 is the best choice for all situations with MM400 With the Sanken cos-11 I have found that I tend to reach for regular type about 60% of the time and RED Dot rest of the time. I don't like the noise floor of mm400 if I have to turn in up past 11 ( 40%) with a softer spoken person on a RED Dot What are most of you using with MM400?

Hi Im in the market for a camera mounted stereo shotgun and I am considering the Sanken CMS-10. It looks really cool and apparently its more weather resistant than the audio technica. However there are no reviews on the internet about sound except for a couple murmurs about a high noise floor. Has anybody used this or owned it? Im very curious. Id like to mount one on my FS7 camera. Thank You

So, my 744T is on the way, and I'm looking at my work flow, which using an HD-P2 was simply removing the card, inserting it into a USB reader on my EeePC and renaming files, prior to backing them up on an external drive. The Eee doesn't have Firewire, google shows me a few cables that claim to convert USB to Firewire and vice versa, anyone used them with any success? Any other ideas? See my other thread in the workflow forum if you're a 744T user with who can help on another issue!. Thanks in advance

Hi Guys I'm off on a trip to Morocco soon where I haven't been before and wondered if anyone who's been there has used either Audio Ltd 2040's on Ch 38 or Audio Ltd 2020's on Ch 69 and if they were fine or any problems? Not sure where it is we are going yet and its a normal doco job so cant imagine more than a couple of radios at a time. Thanks for looking.
