Hey guys, Here's a new version of my currently Windows-only 788T control software. It can control most functions of a 788T remotely via USB. This is meant to be a replacement from here on out for Goose, my previous version. This should sort out a lot of GUI/scaling issues people were having. I re-wrote the frontend in .NET MAUI. It looks better and should scale appropriately across different screen sizes now. Download link and screenshots at the end of this post. Changes from last version: - Better UI - Persistent user settings for storing preferred COM port & temperature units. (The gear button by the power button) …

First product I’ve seen using the new WMAS technology. Can’t wait to see what others do with this tech, only a matter of time before us bag mixers get something small enough to use.

Hello, I just bought an used srb block 25 dual receiver but I couldn’t check it thoroughly until yesterday I began a shoot and I came across an issue I wasn’t able to solve: Everytime I wanted to use both transmitter, either a “check freq 1” or “check freq 2” showed up and I couldn’t use one or the other, and yes, I scanned, checked the compat snd everything I could think, even at one moment, I couldn’t hear both transmitters and the check freq kept on showing up… any help or an idea? Or it should be sent to Lectro? thanks in advance… Axel.

Hey Everyone, Here is a super rough version of Goose, my 788T control software. Please keep in mind this is VERY ROUGH and I'm posting it to get a feel of what sort of glitches/bugs I need to work out. But feel free to download it and try it. I'm curious to hear any problems/crashes you might have so I can fix them. SCREENSHOT GALLERY: https://imgur.com/a/MdfATSF Here is a list of some of the stuff you can do with it: FEATURES - Fully control the 788T's transport REC/STOP/PLAY - Edit scene/take info easily for the last recorded and next take - One-button "lettering up" to the next scene letter (haven't implemented a num…

I have a Sony ECM77B lav mic with the standard XLR connector. My question is……is it possible to physically cut that XLR connector off and solder on a 3.5mm locked connector? And obviously still have it work properly.

How do these compare? Apart from the increased amount of operating frequencies available for use with the A20, does it have any other advantages? Performance-wise, do you think there would be much of a difference with an A20 Tx (not the mini) paired with an A10 vs an A20?

I'm about to jump into the Lectrosonics universe, and wondered if people are still loving the DCR822 now that it's been out for a bit? Would you recommend it over the LR? I just used the SRc and didn't really like it, and am leaning towards either the 822 or 2 LRs - to pair with 2 SMQVs or other digital hybrid Txs. This would go in my bag for location sound mixing. Thanks!

Is there a good wind protection item out there for something along the lines of a DPA 4097 micro shotgun?

Inspired by the "View from the office" thread, i am pretty curious as to what bags people haul around, and what gear is in it. So, this threads purpose is pretty simple. Show me your bag, give a little description of what it contains, and what type of gigs you normally do. My "bag": The thing is, i have no bag yet. No cart either. So what you see, is what i have, the rest is rented for every gig. Gear list: Sound Devices 442 Sennheiser G3 kit Røde Lavalier Røde NTG-3 AKG K-271

So, Im looking to get a wireless Lav setup to do talking heads/interview pick ups on my shows. My eye caught this https://www.locationsound.com/sennheiser-ew-500-film-g4-pro-film-combo-set-4493 No, Im not going to wireless my boom, but this is bugging me. I have to ask: There's a Lav and a body pack transmitter, and a receiver to plug into my SD MixPre. ........Fine. In that kit there's a wireless plug on transmitter for the boom, but where's the receiver for that. Am I missing something??? Should there not be a second receiver??? Why are they bundling 2 transmitters, but only one receiver?? Confused on Sunset and Vine

So I have an IFB system in block 941 consisting of a T4, 1x R1a and 1x IFBlue. Kind of testing the waters on the IFBlue. It all works well and the sound quality is similar between the two receivers. I would say the R1a sounds a little darker and the quality of the edge-of-range fizz and breakup is softer. I know these are very subjective sound descriptions but there you go. An advantage of the IFBlue is that the impedance mismatch hiss from the R1a is gone. This is also true with the R1b. A problem I notice with my one IFBlue is that it seems to produce random little hits that are louder and more painful on the ears than would be normal on the R1a. I’m…

Saw this on Comtek’s website. I have always had issues when using the M216 transmitter and this new antenna advertises to alleviate many of them. It also seems to require a modification from Comtek in order to work optimally. Comtek happens to be about 10 mins from my house so I’m going to pay them a visit tomorrow. I’ll report back. ————————————————— We are excited to introduce our new SLW-216B Base Load Whip Antenna specifically designed for improved performance during bag use with new M-216 Option P7 transmitters. This optional antenna (ordered separately) assists with reducing interference from close proximity to other equipment, helps mi…

I have two MixPre II today. One MP3 as audio interface managing recordings of meetings, interviews etc and a MixPre-6 ii for some field recordings, small, simple choirs and some art projects with TC. I often use all four balanced inputs of the MP6 but have so far not felt the need for additional inputs although in often wished the MP6 did have balanced outputs. Now I’ve been offered to switch my MixPre-6 ii for a MixPre-10 ii with $700 in between. The MP10 ii still have warranty and is barely used at all. The seller says it was a bit too much for his need. So even if I really don’t need one as of now - is it the right step anyway and too good …

I’ve just purchased a midi fit and most of its implementation I’ve managed to work out. One thing I haven’t is the control modes specifically the bus send mode …. It’s supposed to be utility button on and button 4 to engage but I can’t see how to select the the bus and use faders to create a prefade IFB mix….. Any clues or point me to a place that has a detailed instruction cheers Ant

Hello all. someone knows if Sound devices is going to discontinue the 833 ?, we need to buy a new recorder, and i don't want to buy a unit that's going to be discontinued soon. Paranoia? may be. Sonosax, is the other option to me but more expensive, and propietary ( beautiful) surface control. Any other recorder on this 7K that worth the pain? Cantar mini is gone.....f&%$! The Nova, if it's the only Zaxcom product on the cart, makes sense?

Full version with photos on my website: https://documentarysoundguy.ca/np-50-bt100-battery-life-comparision-in-zaxcom-zmt-zmt-x/. I want to share some battery tests I did with the two Zaxcom ZMT transmitters: ZMT4 and ZMT4-X. The ZMT4 advertises "up to 7h" battery life, and uses NP-50 batteries (same as Lectrosonics SSM). The ZMT4-X advertises "up to 16h" battery life, and uses Motorola BT100 batteries (only used by some unusual Motorola walkies as far as I can tell). I measured battery life by putting the transmitters into record, waiting for them to die, and then ingesting the recorded files. The length of the recording is the time I used for batter…
